Parent Yoga
Yoga for you while your children play or join in - babies & kids of all ages welcome!


A relaxing, casual environment where you relax, stretch and develop strength without having to find childcare! Children of all ages are welcome.  Babies may nap, watch you, crawl on you or be lifted during your warrior poses and older kids may do the poses with us!  Half of the room is a preschool that the children are welcome to use as they may wander in and out of our yoga practice.  You may even step in and out of the practice depending on their needs or find creative ways to nurse during the poses!  The intention is to offer a space for you to connect with other parents and find a little relaxation, flexibility and strength while doing it.  A chance to check in on how you feel and how parenting feels with a supportive environment.  And your kids get a group of friends to play with.  An added bonus is that young children learn the "feel" of us practicing awareness and mindfulness during our yoga - they absorb this nicely just by being there.

Schedule: 

Sundays at 3pm

These classes are "drop in" - no registration required.

We follow the school calendar - I'll send reminders via email each time, but in general if public schools are out, we won't be having class


How:  Just drop in!  No pre-registration required.  There may be cancelations or new times offered, so to be safe, please also request to be added to the "Parent Yoga email list".  Do so by emailing me at jess2breathe@gmail.com.

Cost:  sliding fee $3 +  

Other considerations:

* Mats and props available for use
* Please don't allow your children to eat in the classroom unless they can stay at the table and eat from a bowl independently, but no food or open drink containers is the preference
* Wear stretchy, comfortable clothes
* Cash is prefered


One Day Kids Yoga Camp

DETAILS:  We will move our bodies, gaining flexbiility, strength, balance, confidence and more body awareness.  We will practice many types of breaths and relax our bodies and minds to learn we are the creators of our reality.  We will discuss, play with and imagine the four big feelings teaching emotional awareness and empowerment.  We will hear stories and do some art and spend some time playing as well!

Mindfulness for Pre-Teens
Mindfulness series for Middle School students
          
A 4 week series run by Julia Johnson of Our Mindful Garden:  In this mindfulness class, students will learn ways to improve focus, develop more self-regulation and self-awareness, and increase empathy and compassion for others. They will learn techniques that will help them be better able to take care of themselves and their emotional needs, particularly negative feelings or challenging situations. Each week we will practice and discuss different mindfulness skills and techniques, journal, take some time to take care of our bodies through stretching and relaxation, and have discussions where students can address thoughts and concerns they may have.

Family Yoga Class Series

Yoga and mindfulness for the whole family!

   
We will explore Yoga, Mindfulness and Emotional Awareness through many different avenues: Yoga postures to increase body awareness, confidence, flexibility, strength, focus and coordination; Stories to open and expand the mind to new ways of thinking and acting; Meditation practice for tools to focus and calm the mind, to become aware of feelings and energy in the body and change them when necessary; Games and Role Playing as fun ways to explore and practice; and Music and Art to engage the creativity of it all.   Partner poses and learning some skills together can help bring families closer!

Parents get to dip into a sweet relaxing savasana while the kids read a story and do an art project.  Take home several types of breaths that can relax, focus or energize. We will use games and stories that can be used on their own at home or tied into your established daily routines.  Parenting is its own yogic path!!  Join us as we share and discover helpful tips and self care concepts.  Instead of yet another activity to fit into your busy schedules, imagine yoga and mindfulness workshops as an opportunity to incorporate simplifying, grounding and relaxing approaches into the busy life you may already lead!

Homeschool Yoga and Mindfulness

Nourishing the whole human


(Open to anybody, but designed for homeschool families because of the time.)

We will develop community through weekly meetings and practice postures, breath work, calming techniques, feeling awareness, meditation, art, music and more.  We will practice the wide ranging concepts from Yoga and beyond.  Physical yoga postures help nourish and awaken our body awareness; teach us strength and flexibility in mind, body and spirit; boost confidence; keep us healthier; and teaches us that our health and well being is in our own hands.  Breathing, mindfulness and techniques of energy awareness offer a healthier relationship with self and the ability to manage one's own tumult.  Some free time with friends will allow us to explore the world of feelings in real time and a short art project will continue our goal of nourishing the being beyond just the brain.

Calmer Children, Calmer Adults
Learn yoga and mindfulness tools to bring to your kids - at home or in your classroom!

Overwhelmed? Kids fighting, clinging, angry or otherwise stressed out? Tired of yelling and going in circles with the logic they seem to ignore? Join us as we approach behavior management from the perspective of the child - we can give them tools that will serve them their entire lives – and that will also make our lives easier! Learn simple and fun tools around around breathing, moving, relaxation and mindfulness to share with and model for the children in your life. We will learn ways to empower children and teach them to reduce stress, find control over their emotions, respond to others with empathy, and feel more confidence, strength, flexibility and focus (mind and body!). Helpful for working with children individually or in classroom settings. For teachers, parents and caregivers of children ages 3 and up.

COST: $100 for the entire after school program.  $65 for the class (4-5pm) alone.  $6/hr for any portion of the afterschool portion


Afterschool program - 3pm - 5:15pm  
Drop off your child at 3 (or later).  Unstructured relaxation time.  I will play quiet music, dim the lights and offer art supplies, books and other calming activities.  (Your child does not have to be calm in order to do this - this is designed to help children unwind after the day - so whatever they need and is good for them will happen.) The class will be over at 5pm, but to make it easier on working parents you can pick up at 5:15pm

Peaceful Heart Preschool
A yoga and mindfulness inspired, full-curriculum preschool!  

Complete preschool and "kindergarten readiness" curriculum through the grounded, mindful, holistic, fun and movement-filled approach of yoga!   Letters, numbers, science, art....  We keep moving!   Ages 3 - 6.   Two or three days per week.  Small class size.

Invite me to your classroom!  $60 for a 45 minute visit.  Fun breathing and relaxation techniques turn into classroom management tools that you can keep using.  Keep you and your kiddos happier, more compassionate and relaxed through the entire day.
