Kids Yoga and Art Saturday Camps

A one-day camp to refill that little well...

Life is getting a bit too stressful for these kids. Let them take a breather and nourish themselves through the powerful and soothing practices of yoga and art. We will breathe, stretch and develop more balance, body awareness and confidence. We will practice emotional wisdom and explore healthy social skills naturally throughout the afternoon. And through creativity, self-expression and artistic exploration children will create an original, personal piece of artwork to take home. A cozy, inviting, nourishing environment that can offer some roots to take your child through the rest of her school year a little more grounded, and some wings to brighten their day.

Tiffany Miller is a certified K-12 Art teacher. Her ultimate goal as an art teacher is for ALL students to define themselves as artists and to feel confident in their ability to express their individuality through art. She is also a kids yoga teacher and loves pairing the two for an in depth, empowering experience for children.

Amy Friedman has been an educator for over twenty years both internationally and stateside. She has taught art, drama, experiential education, yoga, dance, and social and emotional learning. Her yoga journey began young with a yogini mom to pave the way. This path led her to explore yoga as a means for balance, self-study, and ultimately, a way of life. Amy currently works with kids and teachers to explore the seeds of yoga while working as a middle school counselor. Amy is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, certified as a 200-hour yoga teacher and a 95-hour children’s yoga teacher. She is a mindfulness facilitator for Be Here Now Sangha and co-leads the family mindfulness retreats through Open Way. She is a certified Positive Discipline Parent and Classroom Educator as well. Amy is passionate about helping both kids and adults learn to plant healthy seeds and water them daily. You can learn more about Amy here: tiny.cc/amybewell

Tiahna Holtey is Peaceful Heart's apprentice and soon to be the lead teacher at Peaceful Heart Preschool during Miss Jess's maternity leave. She is also a graduate of our Kids Yoga Teacher Training and a caring, grounding force to have in the classroom.

Parent Yoga

Yoga for you while your children play or join in. Babies & kids of all ages welcome!

45 minutes of class and 30 minutes of play and socializing!

A relaxing, casual environment to relax, stretch and develop strength without having to find childcare! Children of all ages are welcome. Babies may nap, watch you, crawl on you or be lifted during your warrior poses and older kids may do the poses with us! Half of the room is a preschool that the children are welcome to use as they may wander in and out of our yoga practice. You may even step in and out of the practice depending on their needs or find creative ways to nurse during the poses! The intention is to offer a space for you to connect with other parents and find a little relaxation, flexibility and strength while doing it. A chance to check in on how you feel and how parenting feels with a supportive environment. And your kids get a group of friends to play with. An added bonus is that young children learn the "feel" of us practicing awareness and mindfulness during our yoga - they absorb this nicely just by being there.

* Mats and props available for use

* Please don't allow your children to eat in the classroom unless they can stay at the table and eat from a bowl independently, but no food or open drink containers is the preference

* Wear stretchy, comfortable clothes

* Cash is preferred

Starting January 26, Amanda Johannson of The Moon and Me will be taking over this class through the rest of the season!

Amanda Tripp Johansson earned a MS from Portland State University in Educational Leadership & Policy with an emphasis in Leadership for Sustainability Education, a Permaculture Design Certificate, and Kundalini Yoga Instructor Certificate. Re-Igniting Intimacy

A one day workshop for couples with children

With Prairie Wolfe

Adding children to a family is an unbelievable blessing, but it also adds stress to a partnership. We have less time, less energy, less patience, less privacy. We're constantly giving support to our family, yet it can be difficult to ask for it ourselves.

I'll tell you a secret: Women want sex. Women want connection with their partners. But here's the deal- they need to feel safe and secure in order to relax into intimacy. They need to feel heard, seen, and supported.

Birth will blow you open, and we have an opportunity to really delve into that openness and expand our relationships into something even more spectacular and more connected than ever before.In this full day workshop we will slow down and dive into deep embodiment and loving communication to discover ways to rekindle the fire of intimacy in the postpartum time.

We will be using movement, breath work, and gentle touch throughout the day, as well as touching upon Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent. All couples welcome, whether 6 months or 10 years postpartum.

Light snacks and tea provided

Prairie Wolfe is a Sexological Bodyworker, an intimacy coach, and as a certified INNATE postpartum care provider. She is an inspired and passionate student of the body and finds deep satisfaction in helping other people discover what’s inside of them. Her work is informed by the social nervous system- knowing that humans evolved as group animals and that our physical and emotional health require authentic and trustworthy connection in order to truly blossom.

Providing truly resourced and physiological care for new mamas can reshape our culture and our future. Prairie provides care through nourishment, mindful presence, bodywork, and holistic pelvic care.

Family Yoga Series

Yoga, Mindfulness, breathing techniques, emotional wisdom and connection for you and your child.

Breathing, mindfulness and meditation techniques give us tools to take into our daily routines. Learning alongside of your child, you can create the environment and the framework at home to integrate these tools into your daily life. Smooth out the kinks, prepare for rough patches in your schedule, plan ahead and also learn to "surf" when the waters get rough. My approach with relationship, parenting and feelings extends directly from our own practices with meditation and yoga. We practice presence, stillness and keen attention with our own inner landscape and with our children.

We will stretch and breathe to increase the health of our bodies. We will strengthen our bodies to increase our mental/emotional strength. We will practice challenging poses and balance postures to increase confidence and coordination. We will be present and laugh together to increase connection and we will explore feelings and communication to increase flow in our daily lives together.

We will move, dance, sing, read stories, share feelings, do art and spend some time just BEING together.

Mindful Parenting Series

Nourishing 3 part series focused on reflection, movement and mini-mindfulness techniques that enable us to move through the tough times with grace.

Parenting is hard work. How do we nourish ourselves as parents and caregivers? This four part series weaves the potent practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation with brain science to help us slow down & de-stress in the moment. Kundalini yoga is a dynamic practice blending movement, breath, mantra, relaxation, and meditation to tune up the nervous system, create mobility in the spine, and connect to inner truth.

The course will include reflection, movement, and mini-mindfulness techniques that enable us to move through the tough times with grace. Parents may bring children to play during the course. Peaceful Heart Preschool welcomes families to warm up with a cup of tea after the session for connection, discussion, and play.

Feel free to stick around and warm up with a cup of tea afterward for connection, discussion and play
